Pink Truth accuses everyone involved in Mary Kay of being brainwashed goons. As long as you follow the party line, it doesn't matter who you are, you will be accepted. Apparently, Pink Truth likes this concept so much they have adopted it themselves. This article is written by someone that was never involved in Mary Kay. I doubt we will see any "shut up and don't come back until you have Mary Kay experience" comments on this one though... she follows the party line.
Okay, on to the article. This actually gives you a good picture of what it will likely take to "make it" in any network marketing, recruiting based sales situation. You gotta get your boots on the ground (or heels). There is clearly still a lot of confusion between the easy, laid back (relatively) option of making some small extra cash on the side and making a career of this with a team.
If you think you can put together a team and make millions, consider the implications of this article. You are going to need to get in front of a lot of women (or men) in order to find that team. Personally, I would try to be a little more selective in who you recruit. Yes, you could do the high pressure, recruit everything that breathes in a 10 mile radius, but why? You will probably need to put some pressure on some people - as I've mentioned elsewhere, you are changing peoples minds... and the ones that will be your best, will probably put up the most resistance.
