Perhaps the biggest takeaway should be: have goals. Lofty ones. But also have not only some common sense but realistic goals ALONG THE WAY. It seems a bit "throw the baby out with the bathwater" to imply that NO ONE'S dreams come true. Six month, probably not. But there's nothing wrong with using increments like that to move up the path.
